What I’m reading-

I’m working my way through the mountain of poetry books gifted to me for Christmas- no complaints about that though! Particularly enjoying the collections of Nikita Gill and Tania Hershman, and the Forward Book of Poetry 2023. I’m also getting lots of inspiration for writing about some of the lesser known myths and legends of Britain from Storyland and Wild by Amy Jeffs.

What I’m currently working on-

I am juggling with three projects currently-

I am reworking the My father’s daughter collection that was shortlisted and Highly Commended for the Hedgehog Poetry Press White Label: Huit competition as I believe the relationship that is shown of walking the difficult line between love and fear – how you learn to endure and how it influences choices- is an interesting exploration

I am also building a collection Wifely Matters, which looks at how love changes, accommodates and sometimes rages and realigns through a long-term partnership.

And on the back burner I’m playing with a range of ideas about how to best present my work based around myths, folk and fairy tales – many of which have a little of the dark side about them.
